Trade Associations
Ensuring the highest standards are always met
The National Guild of Removers & Storers

The Guild was formed in 1991. The Guild is also the only trade association in the removals industry whose members have to pass an annual independent inspection and undergo a continual quality monitoring program.
You need to know that you’re entrusting your home and your treasured possessions to a remover that meets high standards of consumer protection. The best indicator of this is to look for a member of The Removals Industry Ombudsman Scheme (RIOS) and only the The Guild insists that all of its members comply with the Ombudsman Scheme’s rules.
The Removals Industry Ombudsman Scheme

The Ombudsman Scheme has been established to provide the removals industry with an independent service to resolve disputes between member companies and their clients, both domestic consumers and commercial organisations, if the conciliation service provided by the National Guild of Removers & Storers has not produced a satisfactory conclusion.
The Scheme is a full member of the British and Irish Ombudsman Association (BIOA) and the Association’s criteria for recognition have been fulfilled: independence of the Ombudsman from those whom she has power to investigate, effectiveness, fairness and accountability.
The British Association of Removers

For more than a century The British Association of Removers (BAR) has been promoting professional excellence in the Removals Industry. Choosing a BAR Member will ensure your move goes smoothly. You will have the peace of mind that comes from using a reputable, professional and safe remover, and in the unlikely event that something goes wrong, you’ve got someone to turn to.
